This month, I sat with Fady Maghak and Victor Fernandez of the AM WEALTH MANAGEMENT GROUP of Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, two outstanding individuals who offer a high level of attention both to financial portfolios and to clients.
How did you get started in this business?
Our team, The AM Wealth Management Group of Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, has over 70 years of combined experience in the financial industry. Fady began his investment career in 1998 when he left his corporate job at Texaco in pursuit of helping individuals manage their money and plan for retirement. There is great joy in knowing that you are helping individuals, families and businesses toward achieving their financial goals.
What services do you provide?
Our team focuses on comprehensive financial planning, whereby we can help our clients with investment planning, risk management, portfolio analysis, retirement planning, college funding, tax mitigation strategies, and estate planning, often working with our clients’ outside professionals such as their tax attorneys, estate planning attorneys, and CPA’s.
Do you help clients who only have a lot of money?
While we do maintain account minimums for investing, we try to help all clients and prospective clients. To the extent that the fit is not in the best interest of either party, we will always give them our best advice on how to move forward, even if it’s with a competitor firm.
What about international clients?
While we are not focused on international clients, we do have the capacity to work with certain international clients (depending on which country they are from). We take these clients on a case by case basis.
Where are you located?
We are conveniently located in Downtown Dadeland (just off the 826 Highway)
Does this mean you only help people in the Dadeland area?
No, we work with people all over the United States. We are licensed in over 10 states and currently have approx. 50% of our clients outside of Florida.
What sets you apart? Our level of communication with our clients is one of our core strengths. We always do our best to educate our clients and proactively reach out to keep them informed. We also will travel to our clients’ homes (including out of state). We know that this is a highly personalized business and there is no substitute for a face to face meeting.

We can help your clients by putting together a personal financial plan that gives them a roadmap to their retirement, asset allocation, insurance needs, and college education funding. This plan gives clients peace of mind to know that they are on the right track to meeting their goals, and gives them suggestions on any necessary steps to take if their situation changes.
